Loosen up and let in some fresh air! Learn how to move paint in broad strokes and make your personal mark.

Sharon has a bold and dramatic style. Her work is colourful and layered with emotion, fluidity and the sensation of light. Sharon Quirke is a professional artist living in West Vancouver. She is actively involved in community art projects, including Vancouver street parties and Art Walks, Harmony Arts Festivals, and North Shore Arts Commission initiatives. She founded the Pissarro School of Art and has enjoyed teaching students of all ages for more than thirty years.

Bring your inspiration; a drawing, photo or memory that you’d really like to paint. With guided instruction, and years of experience, Sharon will help you create movement in your paintings.

With guided weekly instruction Susan will help you become comfortable working with acrylic paints.

Susan has been a professional artist for the past 16 years. Her work is sold globally and she has yearly gallery exhibitions. She is also the publisher of Island Arts Magazine.

Her style is recognized as bright, bold and fun. She has organized and attended workshops by some of Canada’s best artists and is happy to share her knowledge, tricks, tips and passion for acrylic painting.

Payment may be credit card, cheque or money order. Credit Card payments are processed by PayPal - you do NOT need a PayPal account.

Refund/Cancellation Policy for Classes and Workshops:

  • Notification of withdrawal must be made in writing to the Island Arts Magazine. A $50 administration fee will be charged on all withdrawals.
  • Full tuition less the $50 administration fee is refundable up to two weeks prior to the first day of the workshop.
  • No refunds are allowed thereafter unless the class is full and your space is easily filled from our waiting list.
  • No refund will be given after the event due to a no-show.
  • The Island Arts Magazine reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop for any reason and in this case a 100% refund will be given.
